Cholesterol is actually really good, it is a key delivery vehicle for essential nutrients to the brain. The reason why cholesterol has been demonized by the health community is that there was no research or openness in the past to the fact that cholesterol, when in the the blood and in the presence of high levels of glucose (common from eating flour/wheat-based products and highly sugared processed foods) gets oxidized - oxidized cholesterol can deposit as plaque on the arteries which causes heart disease.
But cholesterol foods on their own are good -- eating 5 eggs a day is ok. It's just the sugary and high glycemic index foods that transform those eggs into bad things.
Our bodies are not meant for high blood sugar spikes, flour and processed sugar-based foods are damaging.
To get the same blood sugar spike as we get from drinking a can of Coke, a prehistoric human would have to eat 8 feet of sugar cane.
